CDCP COVERAGE

Who Qualifies for CDCP Coverage?

To qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, you must meet four simple requirements:

  • Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
  • Have filed your most recent Canadian income tax return.
  • Have an adjusted family net income under $90,000 per year.
  • Not have access to private dental insurance through work, a pension, or a family member.

Coverage Levels Based on Family Income

The amount the CDCP covers depends on your family income:

  • Under $70,000: 100% of the standard CDCP fee is covered with zero patient co-payment.
  • $70,000 to $79,999: 60% of the standard CDCP fee is covered (40% patient co-payment).
  • $80,000 to $89,999: 40% of the standard CDCP fee is covered (60% patient co-payment).

Denture Services Covered Under the CDCP

The CDCP covers many essential denture services to help you eat comfortably and smile with confidence:

  • Complete upper and lower dentures.
  • Partial dentures (cast metal, flexible, and acrylic styles).
  • Denture relines to tighten loose dentures.
  • Denture rebases to replace old pink bases.
  • Same-day emergency repairs and adding new teeth to existing dentures.
  • Comfort adjustments to relieve sore spots.
